Medicare Supplement Broker Incentives- 2024 Q3 Update

Insurance companies that operate in the brokerage Medicare Supplement market typically offer per policy bonuses to encourage agents to sell their products.  These bonuses generally vary by underwriting type and reward agents for writing the types of business that fit in the company’s marketing plans.

Below is a listing of incentive programs that are currently being offered.  The majority of these are scheduled to be available from July 1st through September 30th.

The two key trends that we are seeing:

  1. Bonus amounts have typically decreased from prior periods.  This could be a short-term trend as carriers are gearing up for increased activity during Q4.

  2. More carriers are including bonus payments tied to sales on ancillary products (e.g., cancer and dental).

We’ll continue to monitor the market and will provide an update on available incentives in Q4.
